Eligibility for Research Grants – Bi-nationally Supervised Doctoral Degrees in Germany, 2019:

  • The candidates applying should be doctoral candidates and the scientists who are well qualified.
  • The grant is also granted to few applicants with Bachelor’s degree in exceptional cases.
  • The grant will be provided to the candidates to fund their research at a state or state-recognized institution of higher education or a non-university research institute in Germany.
  • Funding will be provided for a maximum of two years.
  • The applicants should provide an outline of their project which should include a plan on how they would like to divide their time between Germany and the home university and specify plans to visit a third country for the purpose of collecting material in a work and time schedule in their application.

    • A monthly payment of EUR 1,200 for doctoral candidates during the stay in Germany.
    • The grant also covers health, accident, and personal liability insurance.
    • Travel allowance, one-off research allowance are covered.
